MSc student group: planning meeting

Calling all students interested in evaluation methods and innovative study design…

Date: Thursday 21st November

Time: 12.45 – 13.45

Location: Keppel Street Room LG8

Come along to meet fellow students interested in evaluation and to shape the Centre for Evaluation student group’s agenda for the year ahead.

Centre for Evaluation student group
Every year, a group of MSc students are chosen as student reps to work alongside the Centre for Evaluation.  You don’t need to have previous experience to be a student rep, only an interest to learn more about rigorous, innovative evaluation methods in a student-led environment, and beyond what is taught on LSHTM’s compulsory modules.

MSC student groups in previous years have organised events, meetings and seminars that have been a fantastic opportunity to exchange ideas and learn from peers, academics and professionals involved in conducting evaluations of public health programmes. We hope to support a group of motivated students in the 2019/20 cohort to do the same.

This meeting will aim to identify student reps and start to brainstorm potential activities for the year ahead. No RSVP necessary – just turn up!

Centre for Evaluation

The Centre for Evaluation is one of the school’s multidisciplinary centres. We have almost 400 members from the staff and student body at LSHTM. We run a module in Term 2 called ‘Evaluation of Public Health Interventions’.

Our mission is to improve the design and conduct of public health evaluations through the development, application and dissemination of rigorous methods, and to facilitate the use of robust evidence to inform policy and practice decisions.

Email if you have any questions, or if you can’t make the meeting but are still interested in playing an active role in the Centre.

We hope to see many of you there!
