MSc student group: lunchtime meeting

Calling all students interested in evaluation methods and innovative study design…

Date: Friday 19th October

Time: 12.45 – 13.45

Location: Keppel Street Room LG6

The Centre for Evaluation is holding a lunchtime meeting for MSc students to introduce the Centre and how students can get involved. The Centre for Evaluation is one of the school’s multidisciplinary centres. We have almost 400 members from the staff and student body at LSHTM. We run a module in Term 2 called ‘Evaluation of Public Health Interventions’.

Our mission is to improve the design and conduct of public health evaluations through the development, application and dissemination of rigorous methods, and to facilitate the use of robust evidence to inform policy and practice decisions.

Centre for Evaluation student group
Every year, a group of MSc students are chosen as student reps to work alongside the Centre for Evaluation.  You don’t need to have previous experience to be a student rep, only an interest to learn more about rigorous, innovative evaluation methods in a student-led environment, and beyond what is taught on LSHTM’s compulsory modules.

MSC student groups in previous years have organised events, meetings and seminars that have been a fantastic opportunity to exchange ideas and learn from peers, academics and professionals involved in conducting evaluations of public health programmes. We hope to support a group of motivated students in the 2018/19 cohort to do the same.

No RSVP necessary – just turn up!

Email if you have any questions, or if you can’t make the meeting but are still interested in playing an active role in the Centre.
