Melissa and Fern presented findings from an economic and impact evaluation of the Unitaid-funded HIV Self-Testing Africa (STAR) Initiative; a five-year project to catalyse the market for HIV self-testing. The talk focused on the methods used in the evaluation as well as the challenges and benefits of evaluating projects in the field and their consortium approach.
