The Centre for Evaluation – One year on

Though always part of its core business, perhaps at no other time since its founding in 1899 has evaluating public health interventions, programmes and policies been higher on the agenda of LSHTM and its staff, students and partners. That’s why the LSHTM “Centre for Evaluation” was launched, nearly one year ago. The contemporary challenges and opportunities to which the Centre responds remain as real now as they were then. Over the next few weeks, this blog will feature reflections on three key challenges that have become apparent during the Centre’s first year: the changing nature of interventions, programmes, systems and policies that require evaluation; the growing interdisciplinarity in public health; and the changing nature of accountability and communication in evaluation.
